Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38EB-K

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ38EB-K Digital Camera is without a doubt one of the best cameras available to buy these days which is even better when you consider it's price. For less than £200 you'll be equipped with a camera that produces excellent quality pictures, with a zoom that is ample to get right in on long distance action and capture HD quality still and motion pictures.

The DMC-FZ38-K can record HD movie of 720P in AVCHD Lite. And a stereo microphone, featuring Dolby Digital Stereo Creator, records high quality audio. Just press the Motion Picture Button and the camera is ready to shoot. In Creative Movie mode both the shutter speed and aperture can be fine tuned allowing experimental photographers to cover all angles and shooting conditions. Obviously not everyone will want to play around with these settings which is ok as the camera actually does everything for you when in the correct mode. The dichotemy of the Panasonic DMC-FZ38EB-K is that a child could take excellent quality photos and movies, but with the flick of a switch you'll have near professional levels of customisation.

With a 27mm wide angle 18x optical zoom that can be used in motion picture recording you get so much more than smaller cameras on the market. The lens unit comprises 11 elements in 8 groups, with 2 ED lenses and 3 aspherical lenses, including a dual-sided aspherical meniscus lens. The powerful 18x zoom can also be used in motion picture recording. Furthermore, in 3-megapixel resolution, the Extra Optical Zoom function provides additional magnification, extending the zoom power to 35.2x (35mm film camera equivalent: 950mm).

The DMCFZ38EB also comes equipped with POWER O.I.S which is excellent at reducing low frequency vibration which often causes degraded photos due to blurring. This means you can easily take night shots without having to worry about the resulting photos. Activating POWER O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Face Detection AF/AE with Face Recognition, Intelligent Scene Selector, Intelligent Exposure and AF Tracking, the camera does all the work in the iA Mode. One other feature that Panasonic have included on this digital HD camera is there (now well known) face recognition funtion which recognises registerd persons' faces and optimises settings around them for perfect shots. The DMC-FZ38 also replaced its linear program processing with parallel processing to achieve an ultra high-speed start-up of 1.2 seconds, a remarkable 20% decrease from previous model (FZ28).

If we were going to list all the features of the Lumix DMC-FZ38EB-K you'd be reading all day. No matter how serious a photographer you are this camera will be an ideal option.
